Celebrating Greece's Bicentennial

Today marks the day we celebrate 200 years of Modern Greece. Greek Independence Day is celebrated today on March 25th, observing the outbreak of the Greek War of Independence in 1821, which ultimately led to independence for Greece from the rule of the Ottoman Empire.

This will be the second celebration to take place during the pandemic. But we nevertheless wanted to celebrate by sharing photos taken by Steve Makris of the previous March 25th celebrations. Enjoy!
